About This Data Center
Developing Tanzania’s digital economy. Launched in mid-2022, wingu Tanzania is the first integrated carrier-neutral data center and cable landing station in the country. The facility is connected to our other data centers, strategically located across East Africa, including in Djibouti, Ethiopia and Somaliland.
Working with our local partner, Athena Core Technologies Ltd, the Tier 3 facility will host international cable landings and offer colocation services for local and international customers, improving internet speed, reliability, and affordability. The data center and cable landing station incorporates energy-saving technology while using green energy where possible.
This infrastructure development is critical to the country’s strategy to grow its ICT sector, directly generating highly skilled jobs and enabling entrepreneurial activity and employment in the digital age.
