About This Data Center

The Rostelecom Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk Data Center, launched on September 18, 2020, is the easternmost data center in Russia. This facility is designed to ensure the stable operation of equipment, secure data storage, and reliable communication channels. With an initial capacity of 1.5 MW and 25 rack spaces, it has the potential to expand to 180 rack spaces. The data center is equipped with advanced systems for uninterrupted power supply, air conditioning, and fire protection. It is connected to the mainland by a three-fold reserved high-speed trunk data link, ensuring reliability for high-load digital projects in the Far East, such as Digital Region, Smart City, and Safe City initiatives. The governor of the Sakhalin region, Valery Limarenko, emphasized the importance of this data center in supporting the region's digitalization efforts, including healthcare, public safety, education, and logistics. The facility is expected to attract industrial and IT companies to the Sakhalin region, boosting its socio-economic development.
