The 214-acre plot in Andrup was initially intended for data center use and was later acquired by Facebook (Meta). The site is strategically located close to multiple submarine fiber cables and high voltage power transmission lines, making it an appealing location for a data center. The plans include 200,000 m2 of data halls, 50,000 m2 of administrative/logistics buildings, and 1-2 substations with backup power infrastructure. In 2022, Meta paused the project, but they remain the owners of the plot.
