About This Data Center
Digital Realty's Johannesburg JB2 is a major data center facility located on the Bredell Campus in Kempton Park, South Africa. Completed in November 2017, it was the largest commercial data center ever built in Africa at that time, featuring over 6,000 square meters of technical deployment space. The facility provides cloud-neutral and carrier-neutral colocation services with access to numerous service providers, cloud platforms, and Africa's largest internet exchange (NAPAfrica), forming a vital part of the African Internet backbone. It incorporates sustainable water management systems including rainwater harvesting and closed-loop cooling technology.
